Glass wrap, projection, bucket d.30 cm
Context-specific work, variable dimensions
2019

Cuore (Heart), was commissioned and created for Toast, an artist-run space inside what used to be a porter’s lodge, in a disused tobacco factory in Florence. It finds its origin in the affective and material relations between the space and its absent inhabitants, as well as with the abandoned industrial landscape. In the space, a video projection creates flashes of light that make the small loggia, whose windows have been covered with an opaque wrap evoking the effect of condensation, vibrate. Through a small window left slightly open, visitors can see a bottomless bucket lying on the floor. The installation was made in the middle of winter: the temperature was around 0 degrees.
